- Share Accounts
Membership in Baptist Credit Union starts with a regular savings account (Share Account). Minimum deposit into a regular savings account is $25.00 and this account stays open as long as you are a member of the credit union. The balance must remain at least $25. Dividends are posted to your account quarterly. Members may use this account to build their savings.
- Certificates of Deposit Accounts (CDs)
When your savings have reached the level of more than $500., members may wish to transfer their funds into a Certificate of Deposit Account. Certificates pay higher dividends than regular savings and enjoy compounded interest since the dividends are posted monthly. CDs range in time periods from six months to five years.
- Money Market Accounts (MM)
Money Market Accounts are great for members whose lives are in transition. MM accounts require a minimum deposit of $2,000 and pay a higher dividend than does the regular savings account. Members may write three checks per month on this savings account. This is very helpful when members want to earn a higher return on their savings, but need flexibility and access to their funds. When moving into a new home, changing jobs or taking care of financial matters when there is a death in the family, the Money Market Account may be the perfect product.
- Student Accounts
Student accounts are the most convenient when going to college. With only $5.00 required minimum balance, students have the benefit of having a debit card to access their money. Parents with students who have accounts at BCU can easily transfer money to them at any time.
- Kid's Club Savings Accounts
The Kid’s Club account is designed to help young savers. The minimum deposit of only $5.00 required to open a children’s savings account makes it possible for even the largest families to open an account for each child.
- IRAs (Individual Retirement Accounts)
Baptist Credit Union IRAs have NO ANNUAL MANAGEMENT FEES. IRA products include Traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs and Educational IRAs. Minimal deposits and flexibility of deposits makes this savings product especially attractive.
- Holiday Flex
You can start any month with $25 to open the account, then add to it anytime. You may designate a specific amount for direct deposit from your paycheck or an automatic transfer from your savings or checking account. It earns interest and you can check your account anytime and transfer money into it from your other accounts with our online banking. We have expanded the account to allow 3 withdrawals per year without penalty. Now, BCU members can use their new Holiday Flex Account for vacations, Christmas or any one-time emergency and your new Holiday Flex Account will continue to earn higher dividends.
